Musicians in Exile

Refugee, Music Performance, Drumming

Music for Wellness works in partnership with Glasgow Barons in a project called ”Musicians in Exile”. The project encourages refugees and assylum seekers who were musicians in their home country to play music again by buying them musical instruments and playing in a band in order to grow their network and having a positive impact on the local community they live in as well as improving their quality of life. We form a group of musician refugees mainly from Iraq, Syria and Iran and facilitate 8 rehearsal sessions aimed to prepare an hour of musical performance for a concert in Glasgow.

Here are some videos of our performances:
Pierce Institute Performance in August 2018
Grand Ole Opry Performance in April 2019
